This paper critiques current research on the impact of financial frictions on worldwide commerce. We first current proof on the relation between measures of access to exterior finance and export choices. We then present an analytical framework to investigate the influence of economic frictions on firms’ export selections. Finally, we evaluate recent functions of this framework to research the impact of financial frictions on international trade dynamics across companies, industries, and in the mixture.
